Mo Abudu : Female Power

Behold the face of a woman who is currently changing the face of Nigerian Media and Entertainment. I watched one of the most recent Ebony Life TV movies a couple of weeks ago and I loved what I saw. To date, I still know people who tell me they cannot watch Nigerian movies. They are predictable, overly dramatic.....The list goes on. From the days of Nneka The Pretty Serpent, I have watched Nollywood bloom and blossom. People like Mo Abudu who are making things happen in Nigerian entertainment make my heart do some dancing.  Mo Abudu became a household name in the 2000s with her TV talk show "Moments with Mo," which ran for almost a decade before it became "Moments' .  The media mogul kicked off "Moments with Mo" with an interview with Prof Wole Soyinka. During that time, Mo interviewed an impressive list of guests including Hilary Clinton, Good luck Ebele Jonathan, President Muhammadu Buhari, Olusegun Obasanjo, General Ibrahim Babangida, Bola

THEY ARE BACK !!!!!!

They are back!!!! The MR X Family show is a work of RMD Productions Ltd  Ego Boyo and Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD) graced the screen together in the early 90s with Checkmate and later in 1996 in the movie, Violated. Does anyone remember Keeping Faith from the early 2000s? That was the last movie in which Ego Boyo featured. It's a real pleasure to know she'll be gracing the screen again after a long hiatus. I know she's been doing a lot of stuff  behind the scenes in creative arts as the owner of Temple Productions, Nigeria. Mr X Family Show is a series that'll be airing on DSTV from May 6th. The question on my mind is how can we diasporians get to watch ? :-(  I'm hoping we'll get lucky and be able to watch online.  Ciao!!!

I peeped in on my twitter account on a beautiful spring day and saw a surprise post by Ebony Life TV. The Royal Hibiscus Hotel was on Amazon Prime. Just imagine my excitement. I got to watch the movie for free as an Amazon Prime member. I am expecting this movie to be on Netflix soon just because...... the cinematography is great. The Royal Hibiscus Hotel was shot in London and Nigeria. The movie was directed by Ishaya Bako and produced by Temidayo Abudu. Zainab Balogun and Kenneth Okoli were brilliant in this movie. Rachel Oniga and Jide Kosoko played their part of the typical Nigerian parents fantastically well.  Kemi 'Lala' Akindoju played the role of Chika; the receptionist whose passion was filing her nails. The movie also features actors like Deyemi Okanlawon, OC Ukeje and Akah Nnani. The Royal Hibiscus Hotel is a romantic comedy
