Pelumi's Memoirs - 33

"Chief, Migwo!" Pelumi greeted aunt Kema's husband, Chief Edewor on entering their sitting room. "Pelumi. How have you been? Long time no see." Chief replied in a deep baritone voice. "How was your trip Sir?" Pelumi inquired, smiling. "It wasn't bad, but you know your aunt likes to cover as many countries as possible when we travel. I have told her that I'm getting old and can no longer keep up with her." Pelumi laughed. "I can imagine Sir." "Is that not Pelumi's voice I hear?" Aunt Kema questioned walking down the stairs into the sitting room. "Ehen! I said it!" Aunt Kema exclaimed when she saw Pelumi. "My dear, I have missed you oh! Did you pack your overnight bag? Just so you know, I'm not letting you go back home tonight." Aunt Kema reached forward and hugged Pelumi. "Your hair smells nice. What did you put in it?" "Ah, aunty! Just

BOMBSHELL

On a fine Saturday this December, I drove to the mall around where I live. Just imagine my shock at seeing so many cars parked at the mall which was quite uncharacteristic of that particular mall. Stepping in, everywhere was filled to the brim! Then it occurred to me that Christmas shoppers were responsible for all the hustle and bustle that day. Anyway, I went about my business, looking for the items that were specifically on my list. BTW, did someone tell you that in America, it's easy to just get distracted and buy stuffs you don't need when you step into the mall sometimes. Well, I was determined to not buy 'rubbish or clutter'. Lol I was done with my little shopping in a short while. But, alas! I wasn't willing or ready to go home. I had told myself I was going to see a movie. Bombshell, starring Charlize Theron and Nicole Kidman was showing precisely around that time. So, I went in and bought my ticket at the self-service machine. Then something wei

Movie Review - Bling Lagosians

I thoroughly enjoyed watching this movie. I had many laughing moments. The story is centered around the lives of the popular Lagos Holloway family. Pandemonium struck after the death of 'Baba Eko' who had been protecting Akin Holloway, CEO of ST Ives, a family owned business. Mopelola Holloway who was married to Akin was a reckless spender who spared no expenses especially when she was throwing a party. She had some rather funny and jealous friends who made it their business to taunt her endlessly, when the it appeared that the Holloways had become financially bankrupt. Sharon Ooja brought her A-game on in this movie. I also loved watching Osas Ighodaro's acting. Alexx Ekubo didn't disappoint either. The movie also stars fabulous actors like Mona Lisa Chinda, Toyin Abraham, Bisola Aiyeola and Jide Kosoko amongst others.  I rate this movie a 71/2 out of 10. I would have loved to see how Akin Holloway fought the wolves to take back possession of ST Ives.

Pelumi's Memoirs - 31

He sent his word And healed them He delivered them from their afflictions - The Psalms of David **** Tare met with Ineye for lunch at The Ocean view Restaurant. They were seated on the upper deck which overlooked the ocean. Tare watched the yachts floating on the waters as the gentle breeze slowly caressed the side of her face. "Ineye, I feel bad for Ivan. He's gone through a lot of bad publicity these past weeks. To add insult to injury, Pelumi hasn't been speaking to him. Mum and dad were disappointed when they got to know about the situation." "Yikes!" Ineye exclaimed. "I can imagine how they feel." Ineye used his fork and knife to rip apart the large piece of chicken on his plate. "Dad is concerned that the board of directors may lose confidence in Ivan's leadership abilities." "That won't be fair." Ineye voiced. "I know this is a shitty situation, but it's Ivan's private li
