Pelumi's Memoirs - 39

Liyel watched Celeste as she threw her head back, laughing at a joke he had just made. “Do I have something on my face?” “No, you don't,” Liyel answered, clearing his throat. “So, how have you been? How are your folks? How's work?” Celeste had a lot on her mind that she wanted to say to him. He had treated her shabbily and she had a few things to say about that. For now, she’d let the matter rest. She had been seeking closure and this moment was a prayer answered. “Mum and dad are fine.” She replied, letting out an exasperated sigh. “They are enjoying their lives in Port Harcourt. I haven't seen them since I moved back to Lagos but I talk to them regularly over the phone every now and then.” “Cool,” Liyel replied, smiling. “Work’s been great. Chevron is a great company to work at.” “See, you are practically balling. You are enjoying the good life, Celeste.” Celeste smiled and sipped on her sweet tea. She held the straw in her hand and stirred mindles

Pelumi's Memoirs - 38

The days flew by fast. Truly, time and tide waits for no man. Pelumi thought as she walked into the Ferguson & Fletcher building on a beautiful Friday morning. The sun was out and the day was bright. Pelumi felt a ray of hope, an assurance that what lay ahead of her was a really bright future. She could feel it within her. That her life was about to change. She hadn't seen Remi around since their altercation. She really didn't want to see him. Although he had texted her the following day to apologize for his actions, she hadn't replied to him. You don't come to the hous

Happy February! Dear Ghost Readers, I see you. :-) Your comments are always welcome on the blog. Cheerio....... **** Itoro walked into the house to see Pelumi sitting on the floor, looking dazed. She had called her name twice but Pelumi didn’t respond. “Pelumi!” Itoro yelled this time around. She had been trying to get her attention. “Where's your mind? I had to yell your name for you to hear me.” She noticed that Pelumi had a serious look on her face. “What’s the matter? Why are you sitting on the floor?” Itoro questioned, taking her seat on the sofa opposite her. “Remi was here. He just left…” She said slowly. “Okay…” Itoro responded. “And?” She knew there was more to this. “He came in accusing me of leaving him for Ivan. Itoro, you should have seen his facial expression! I thought he was going to strangle me or something!” Itoro stared at her friend. Was she making stuff up? She knew Remi. He was a perfect gentleman. “Remi? Are you sure? Cos the Re
