A Dash of gratitude

Don’t I just feel like writing tonight? Feels good to know it’s a public holiday in the U.S. tomorrow - Labor Day to be precise. I have been cruising on Facebook. I gaze at my tweeter account once in a while. (Giggling). As summer draws to an end, I feel like it’s been such a long summer. I’m waiting eagerly for fall or autumn. Whichever works for you. I’m extremely thankful for how the year has turned out so far. Though the year started on a very sad note for me, I’m more than thankful right now. I have been held in the strong eternal arms of the big man up there in the clouds. (Another giggle).
Count your blessings, name them one by one. Do you have a list of things you are grateful for? Or you wonder what’s there to be grateful for? Things could be much worse than it is right now. To all who are joined to the living, there is hope. Are you disappointed? Get reappointed. Wise words by Joyce Meyer. Are you discouraged? I know someone who encouraged himself in God. Be encouraged today. Whatever you are going through will pass away. Nothing lasts forever. Except diamonds, maybe? There was a James Bond movie years back. It was titled Diamonds are Forever. Okay, I was just making small talk.
I spoke with an older friend tonight. She wants to sit by the water around Bowling Green tomorrow, and just enjoy the sight. I wish I could. *sad face*, but I have to move some things around. You know, I feel like chilling someplace with a bottle of rich wine. I’m laughing at myself here. I have a list of places I would love to visit in the not too distant future- Vancouver; Canada, Sydney; Australia, Copenhagen; Denmark….. Maybe Paris…. Okay, that will do for now. Errrrm, let’s add Hawii to the list. Omg!!! How could I have forgotten Abu Dhabi…… hahahaha. So I feel like a vain girl right now. **Straight face** I’m so not!!!
I will leave you with these words, from the book of Philippians 4 verse 8- Finally, beloved, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.
Lastly, for taking time to scan these lines,
Roses are Red,
Violets are Blue,
Sugar is Sweet,
So are you.
Ciao!!!!

God, who got you started in this spiritual adventure, shares with us the life of his Son and our Master Jesus. He will never give up on you. Never forget that.

BIBI - CHAPTER 17

Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange was happening to you Several months later….. **** Pere removed his glasses and rubbed his aching eyes. He thought about Nneoma. It had been months since he had seen her. He had reached out to her and tried to see her, but she had refused to pick up his calls. Eventually, she blocked his number, and he saw red. He had had enough. Today, he decided to go to her office to see her. A thousand thoughts crossed his mind. What if she wasn’t at the office? What if she had traveled? “Kade, I’ll see you tomorrow.” He said to their office assistant and headed out. “I’m here to see Ms. Nneoma Odili.” He said to the receptionist. “Is she expecting you?” “No.” He replied curtly. “What is your name?” The lady asked. “Pere is my name.” He answered. “She’s not at her desk.” The receptionist said to him after calling Nneoma's secretary. “Wow! But do you know if she’s in the office today?”

A little Update From Me

Hello there!! Happy New Year!!!  I say Happy New Year because I've been away from this blog for so long. :-(  I can't get past the fact that it was the new year just a few months ago. I remember going to church for the crossover service into the new year. It was my first in-person crossover service in 7 years. If you don't know what a crossover service is, ask any Nigerian. :-) 2023 was a few hours away, and my mind ran over the events in 2022. I thought about my wins, like moving to a new state, settling in, getting a job promotion, etc. I thought about how I got sick and felt like life was leaving me to being well again. People went forward to share their testimonies, and I felt I was supposed to be out there proclaiming God's goodness to me. "I'm sorry, Lord," I muttered. "Thank you for everything." A few hours later, everyone said "Happy New Year" with glee and excitement. "2023... Please be good to me." I th

BIBI - CHAPTER 16

I t was a rainy Monday morning, and Lara was frustrated by all the traffic. That was one thing she missed about London. Fast and reliable transportation that got you where you were going without hassles. She was cranky by the time she arrived at the office that morning. It didn’t also help that she didn’t have a good night’s sleep. She placed her bag under her desk and sighed. Kofo, her admin assistant, walked up to her. “Good morning, madam. Your first meeting with the people from Duchess Group is in forty minutes.” Lara squinted and then nodded. She hadn’t yet turned on her computer. “Thanks, Kofo. Yes, I know.” “Can I get you anything?” “Yes, please. My regular morning fix.” Lara smiled. “Okay, I’ll be right back,” Kofo replied. She liked her new assistant a lot. In the short time since she had known her, Kofo had proven to be reliable. She honestly didn’t know what she would do without her these days. After getting her morning fix, a cup of coffee, and egg sandwiches,
